Pointek CLS200

The Siemens Pointek CLS200 is an RF capacitance point-level switch for detecting level, interfaces, and presence in liquids, solids, slurries, and foam. Designed for demanding process environments, the CLS200 uses radio frequency capacitance technology to detect material at a single setpoint, with adaptable sensitivity and the ability to tune out probe buildup, a critical feature in applications where coating or adhesion would otherwise cause false trips.

Where Siemens Pointek CLS200 Are Used

• Pointek CLS200 Standard — Rod Probe Design: The CLS200 Standard uses an insertable rod probe with adjustable sensitivity up to 5.5 m (18.04 ft) insertion depth. Process connections are threaded 316L stainless steel in 3/4" NPT and 1-1/4" NPT configurations. Wetted seals are FKM. • Pointek CLS200 Digital — Cable Probe Design: The CLS200 Digital adds a display and digital communications to the standard RF capacitance measurement, and uses a flexible cable probe extending up to 30 m (98.43 ft), suited to tall vessels or applications where a rigid rod probe is not practical. Probe material is FEP jacketed cable with PPS probe body. The cable length can be shortened on-site by the customer.

What to Know Before You Buy Siemens Pointek CLS200

Replacing a CLS200 requires matching the process connection size, probe type and length, wetted material, hazardous area approval, and enclosure rating to the installed instrument. Each of these variables is encoded in the part number.

Hardware condition options: We supply Pointek CLS200 instruments as surplus sealed, refurbished, and used hardware. Surplus sealed units are factory-sealed stock. For process instruments with calibrated sensitivity settings, confirming the condition grade is worthwhile; refurbished units have been tested and verified for functionality.

Compatibility considerations: Rod probe and cable probe variants are not interchangeable in the same process connection. The probe length must be appropriate for the vessel geometry and the level setpoint. Hazardous area approval class (General Purpose, Dust Ignition Proof, or Explosion Proof) must match the area classification of the installation. FKM wetted seals are standard across the rod probe variants, confirm compatibility with the process fluid before ordering.

Part identification: The CLS200 part number encodes the product family (7ML5630 for Standard, 7ML5641 for Digital), the process connection size and type, the probe length, wetted seal and probe body materials, and the approval and enclosure configuration. When ordering a replacement, always use the full part number from the installed instrument's nameplate to confirm the correct variant.
