Where Siemens PROFIBUS Hardware is Used
PROFIBUS installations don't disappear overnight. A facility that built its control infrastructure around SIMATIC S7-300 or S7-400 controllers with PROFIBUS DP in 2005 or 2010 is still running that infrastructure today, and the cost of a network-wide migration to PROFINET far exceeds the cost of maintaining the installed base.
