Hardware condition options: We supply Siemens PROFIBUS hardware as surplus sealed, refurbished, and used. For communications modules and HMI panels, surplus sealed units are factory-sealed stock, while refurbished units have been tested and verified to be functional.
Compatibility considerations: PROFIBUS DP and MPI are distinct protocols that operate on the same RS-485 physical layer but have different addressing and configuration requirements. CM modules for SIMATIC S7-1200 operate only as DP Masters; they cannot be used as DP Slaves or on MPI networks. SINAMICS drive control units (CU310 DP, CU320-2 DP) require separate CompactFlash cards. These are not included and must be ordered separately. HMI panels listed as MPI/PROFIBUS DP support both protocols; confirm which is used in the installed system before configuration.
Lifecycle status: A significant portion of this collection carries PM410 (product cancellation), PM490 (final year of support), or PM500 (discontinued) lifecycle status, particularly in the S7-200, MICROMASTER 4, TP 177B, OP 177B, and older SINAMICS S120 product lines.
