Siemens SIPART is the electropneumatic positioner product line used to control pneumatic linear and part-turn actuators in process plant environments. SIPART PS2 positioners translate a 4-20 mA control signal into precise pneumatic output to position control valves, butterfly valves, and rotary actuators, and are found throughout oil and gas, chemical, petrochemical, water treatment, and power generation facilities. Because SIPART PS2 positioners are installed directly on process valves, a failed positioner removes that valve from automatic control. In continuous process operations, a manual workaround can disrupt process stability or require a partial shutdown until a replacement is sourced. Lead times through OEM channels for specific SIPART configurations can be extended, particularly for units with explosion protection or HART communication options.

What to Know Before You Buy Siemens SIPART PS2 Parts
Ordering the correct SIPART PS2 positioner or accessory requires matching three key variables: actuation type (single-acting or double-acting), connection thread standard, and explosion protection classification. Getting these wrong will result in a positioner that cannot be installed in the target application.
Hardware condition options: We supply SIPART PS2 positioners and accessories as surplus sealed, refurbished, and used hardware. Surplus sealed units are factory-sealed stock. Refurbished units have been tested and restored to operational condition.
Actuation type: Single-acting positioners depressurize the actuator on loss of electrical supply (Fail-Safe). Double-acting positioners control both the supply and exhaust sides of a double-acting actuator independently. These are not interchangeable in the field.
Connection threads: SIPART PS2 positioners are available in metric (M20x1.5 electrical, G 1/4 pneumatic) and NPT (1/2" NPT electrical, 1/4" NPT pneumatic) thread standards. Confirm the thread standard used at the installation site before ordering.
Explosion protection: SIPART PS2 positioners are available in nEx (Zone 2/Category 3), Ex/nEx (combined Zone 2 and intrinsic safety), and Ex i (intrinsic safety) configurations. Verify the hazardous area classification at the installation before selecting a positioner variant.
Lifecycle status: Several SIPART PS2 models in the collection carry cancellation status, including 6DR5310-0NG00-0AA0. These models are no longer available through standard OEM channels, making independent supply the primary sourcing path for maintenance teams managing installed SIPART PS2 valves.
Warranty: All SIPART PS2 hardware purchased from PLC Direct includes a standard 1-year warranty covering defects and functionality, applicable to surplus sealed, refurbished, and used products.
