What to Know Before You Buy Siemens SIMODRIVE Parts

Ordering the correct SIMODRIVE 611 component requires matching the module type, the current rating, and the encoder interface type. SIMODRIVE 611 is a modular system, and mixing incompatible module variants within a drive lineup can cause configuration faults that prevent the system from starting.

Hardware condition options: PLC Direct supplies SIMODRIVE hardware as surplus sealed, refurbished, and used. Surplus sealed units are factory-sealed stock; refurbished units have been tested and restored to operational condition.

Lifecycle status: All SIMODRIVE 611 products in this collection carry discontinued or end-of-support lifecycle designations (PM410, PM490). These are not current-production parts. PLC Direct supplies them as replacement stock for existing installations. Siemens no longer manufactures SIMODRIVE 611 hardware, and new units are not available through OEM channels.

Power module current ratings: SIMODRIVE 611 power modules are available in multiple current ratings. The 6SN1123-1AB00-0BA1 (25 A) and 6SN1123-1AB00-0AA2 (15 A) are not interchangeable; the motor-rated current for the feedrate and spindle axes differs between the two. Match the current rating to the motor specifications and the existing drive configuration.

Encoder interface on control loop blocks: The 6SN1118-0NH01-0AA1 control loop block supports both SIN/COS 1 Vpp incremental encoders and EnDat absolute value encoders. Confirm the encoder type used on the machine's servo motors before ordering to verify compatibility with the installed encoder interface.

Infeed module capacity: The 6SN1145-1BB00-0EA1 infeed/regenerative feedback module is rated at 80/104 kW. Verify the total drive system power requirements and the existing infeed module rating before substituting an infeed module, as undersized infeed capacity will cause fault conditions.
