In addition, this module has 6 digital inputs that can be used as limit switches or encoder inputs.
Due to the individual adjustment of the coil currents, the motor is only operated with the current it actually needs. This simplifies the selection of the available motors and prevents unnecessary heating. Because this affects energy consumption and thermal load, the effects are positive on the service life of the complete system. Complete flexibility is achieved through the use of independently adjustable holding, boost and nominal current values. The current for microsteps is automatically adjusted to the configured current values.
The automatic motor identification system is an enormous help during standstills. The stepper motor modules can identify the connected motors using their coil characteristics and generate feedback in the form of an analog value. This makes it possible to detect not only wiring errors, but also incorrect motor types being used mistakenly. A stall detection mechanism is integrated to analyze the motor load. Detection of the stall is defined via a configurable threshold. This allows an overload or motor standstill to be detected precisely in many different types of applications.

6 safe digital outputs with 0.2 A
Source circuit
Output type B
Integrated output protection
This module is equipped with 6 safe digital outputs. The nominal output current is 0.2 A.
The module can be used for controlling actuators in safety-related applications up to PL e or SIL 3.
The outputs are designed using semiconductor technology so that the safety-related characteristics do not depend on the number of operating cycles. The "high-side high-side" variant (output type B) is required for actuators with reference potential (e.g. Enable inputs on frequency inverters). It is important to observe the special notices for the cabling in this case. Safe digital output channels provide protection against automatic restart when network errors occur.
This module is designed for X20 12-pin terminal blocks.

Output type A
Current monitoring
Open circuit detection
Integrated output protection
This module is equipped with 4 safe digital outputs. The nominal output current is 2 A.
The module can be used for controlling actuators in safety-related applications up to PL e or SIL 3.
The outputs are designed using semiconductor technology so that the safety-related characteristics do not depend on the number of operating cycles. The "high-side low-side" variant (output type A) is limited to actuators without reference potential (e.g. relays, valves). Type A outputs have safety-related advantages since the actuator can be cut off in its connection cable in all error scenarios. Safe digital output channels provide protection against automatic restart when network errors occur and also using a current measurement for open circuit detection.
